Rocky Mountaineer moves into new office

Iconic Canadian tour operator Rocky Mountaineer has moved into brand new headquarters in downtown Vancouver.

Located at 980 Howe Street, the new office is over 36, 000 sq. ft., housing 200 year-round employees.

In 2016, Rocky Mountaineer made the largest capital investment in the company’s history.

The renowned rail-tour company has experienced double-digit commercial growth over the last five years and has projected the same for the next five years to come.

The company employs over 700 people during train season, and over $50 million is spent annually with B.C.-based businesses. The Rocky Mountaineer works with more than 1,500 local Canadian suppliers.

According to recent data from the Rocky Mountaineer, the company’s operations generated over $200 million in 2015 in gross domestic product (GDP) contributions in B.C. and Alberta, equivalent to 50% of the annual GDP output produced from Vancouver’s cruise ship industry.

“We’ve worked really hard and made investments in marketing our product, building brand awareness and brand consideration,” said Steve Sammut, president of Rocky Mountaineer.

“We are growing at a double digit rate and we want to continue that; we want to continue to drive this company forward because we are proud to be a Vancouver-based, Canadian company and we are proud of our product.”
